Taco de Bruin, Øystein Godøy, and I will be hosting an informal townhall meeting at the American Geophysical Union Meeting on
Wednesday, 12 December from 1600 to 1800
Sierra Room A on the 5th floor of the Marriott (near the Moscone center)
We will provide a brief status report on IPYDIS activity. Jack Hill, Director of the World Data Center for Biodiversity and Ecosystems will provide some lessons learned form the data management efforts of the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment. We will then open things up for questions and broader discussion.
The meeting is open and all are welcome, but I would appreciate if you tell me if you plan to attend.
Note, there are many other IPY activities going on at AGU. Data issues will be discussed at the IPY Open Consultative Forum Monday at 19:30, the IPY Union Session Tuesday at 16:00, and, of course, the IPY Data Session Friday at 16:00. I will also be speaking at 10:56 on Friday on Building the IPYDIS network.
Finally, if you want to contact me, you can leave a message at either the IPY or NSIDC booths. I will be staffing the NSIDC booth 9:30-10:45 Tuesday and the IPY booth 15:00-17:00 Thursday. Come by and pick up some IPYDIS post-its
.
