Hello,
After a long hiatus celebrating the new calendar and new polar years, we are finally ready to follow up on the results of the DADDI workshop (http://nsidc.org/daddi/workshop.html).
A small but diverse and enthusiatic group of particiapnts helped us develop two use cases. Draft versions of these use cases are available on a wiki and we encourage broad community edits. See

and

We also spent time exploring a variety of visualization tools.
Richard Lammers demonstrated The Arctic RIMS data explorere

We have been working closely with the GCMD to establish an IPY metadata registration system and that will be available soon.
I will also keep you posted on developments in the search interface. A prototype should be available shortly.
