We use DIF to exchange metadata and have run into a problem concerning existing datasets and databases that in some circumstances contain incomplete records for them to fulfil the DIF requirements. While attempting to complete the records we would still like to export/show them. Do anybody know whether there is a standard way of describing missing values/elements within DIF?
