This IPY planning chart provides a very preliminary 'mapping' of IPY coordination proposals by region (north, south, or both) and by science topic. The chart also includes education and outreach coordination proposals, also grouped by region. Each box on the chart represents one coordination proposal, which may include several to many related projects. All these proposals received initial tentative endorsement from the IPY Joint Committee. The number in each box represents the proposal ID number from the coordination proposal database - a search using that number in the ID Number field of the full proposal database will link to the proposal abstract and all details as submitted.
