PROPOSAL INFORMATION

(ID No: 1131)

Polar Time

Outline
We propose to do a performance in a ritual format to draw attention to the demise and ever growing crisis of global warming. Our concept is to focus on the Ice as a metaphor for the melting and shrinking of the Polar caps, Ice Floes, and Ice Bergs. The rate in which the warming is taking place is observed through the measurement of existing ice in the Polar regions. Our photographs would be a documentation of the performance depicting a Shamanic figure on an ice/snow landscape. This symbolizes man’s presence and effect on the environment. This would render a strong visual impact and a reminder of man’s interaction with nature. Our work invariably leaves audiences awestruck both in terms of imagery and concept. The images are timeless they remain fresh, vibrant and alive. The photographs will be a touchstone in a visual format of this event of Polar Time.
