Expressions of Intent and Endorsed Full Proposal Databases for IPY 2007-2008 ActivitiesAccessing the Expressions of Intent DatabaseIn early November 2004, the polar community was invited to submit to the IPY International Programme Office (IPO), brief expressions of intent (EoI) for IPY activities. To date, the IPO has received over 1100 EoI which have been placed in an online database (see below). It is possible to browse all the EoI’s, or browse those that are specifically Arctic Only, Antarctic Only or Bipolar. Searches can also be made on a specific field or to look for a particular term in all the searchable fields. Please note, there is no deadline for submitting EoI’s. For further information, please see the section Get Involved on the IPY Website. EoI Database: Accessing the Endorsed Full Proposal Database:The overwhelming response of the international community to the three calls (June 2005, September 2005 and January 2006) for Full Proposals illustrates the way in which IPY 2007-2008 has captured the interest of this community. Each Full Proposal was reviewed by an expert panel of scientists or outreach and education professionals. As of January 2007, 228 full proposals out of 407 submitted have been fully endorsed by IPY. All these proposals can be found on the IPY Honeycomb chart and full details of each proposal can be found in the searchable database below. The full proposal database can be viewed in several ways. You can browse through the proposals, or you can search by keyword. You can also select to search through all submitted proposals or view only those endorsed, acknowledged or endorsed under another project. Similarly, you can select to browse proposals that focus on the Antarctic, Arctic, Bipolar, or all. Please note that the review process of full proposals is now closed, and only under exceptional circumstances, will the IPY Joint Committee agree to review a late submission. Please contact the for further information. Full proposal Database: Browse Science Plans: |
