PROPOSAL INFORMATION

Participation to the WAP (Worldwide Antarctic Program) Ham Radio activities  (HAM)

Outline
Having received the special Callsign IR2IPY from the Italian Ministry of Telecommunication, I would like to use my special callsign and IPY logo to be printed on the Ham radio QSL card , which is used to confirm the radio contacts.

What significant advance(s) in relation to the IPY themes and targets can be anticipated from this project?
This involves a large number of Ham operators worldwide , who will be attracted in contact with a special IPY suffix in the callsign.

What international collaboration is involved in this project?
There are about 20 Ham Radio operators spread around the globe using a special callsigns with IPY in the suffix

As per Ham radio laws, operators are allowed to ask special callsigns to be used during special events; in this case, the International Polar Year .
