PLANET ICE : A JOURNEY THROUGH THE MELTING WORLD Photo and education exhibition  (THE MELTING WORLD)

AIM OF THE PROJECT * The celebration of the “International Polar Year 2007/2008” * the celebration of a world that is literally melting: the Polar Regions; * bring awareness of the beauty of this fragile ecosystem and the dangers that it is facing with global warming; * bring awareness to the public (children through schools) of what we can do in order to reduce CO2 emissions; THE EVENT * photographic exhibition; * educational path though the exhibition (panels) on issues related to global warming; * conferences (scientists, photographers….) * projections of slideshows and films on Arctic regions; * involvement of schools;

What significant advance(s) in relation to the IPY themes and targets can be anticipated from this project?
Whit the involvement of schools this project will have a great education impact for the ecological behaviour of the next generation.

What international collaboration is involved in this project?
If successful the event and exhibition will be proposed in other countries other than Switzerland.
