Study of pulsed cosmophysical signals of nonelectromagnetic origin in conjugate points of Northern (Barentzburg) and Southern (Novolazarevskaya) polar regions.  (Gravitation)

Outline
It is commonly accepted that linkage between the Earth’s biosphere and space environment is realized by means of electromagnetic fields or high-energy charged particles of solar or cosmic origin. Meanwhile, variations of the gravitational field affected by the Sun and the Moon while the Earth’s moving along the orbit seem to be a powerful source of many rhythmical processes typical of biochemical systems. Studies carried out in AARI [Troshichev et al., 2004, Advances in Space Res.] revealed the obvious relationships between the dynamics of some biochemical reactions and ?D-function describing the regular variations of the gravitational field under combined influence of the Sun and the Moon. Moreover, the same periodicity has been revealed in the rhythmic of such technogenic processes as spatial and temporal corrections provided by GPS system and occurrence of the pulse signals recorded by microphotocolorimeter free of the working mixture. Based on these results the conclusion was maid the gravitational field variations can efficiently influence on the man habitat. It was speculated that the Earth is constantly exposed to action of impulse signals of unknown origin and the varying gravitational field modulates the signal passage to the Earth. To explore the features of impulse signals the synchronous precise measurements of the cosmophysical effects have been established at the Antarctic station Novolazarevskaya under ecologically clear conditions. The synchronous occurrence of pulsed signals has been revealed in photocurrents detected by such devices as microphotocolorimeter and gas-filled photoelement and in the light emissions in range from 200 to 600 nm. The dominated spectral lines of the pulsed signals and their energetic and temporal features has been determined. The program of studies during IPY suggests:· Registration of the pulsed signals in spectrum of free atmosphere (200-600 ??) on the basis of the zenithal spectrometric observations during polar day and polar night periods at Novolazarevskaya station (Antarctica); · Establishment of combined registration of the pulsed cosmophysical signals in the Northern polar region – at Barenzburg station Spitzbergen);· Sinchronous registration of the pulsed signals at both points (Novolazarevskaya and Barenzburg) :· Analysis of the spatial-temporal anisotropy of the cosmophysical signals and derivation of the empirical model of the cosmophysical irradiation (spatial orientation relative the Earth’s axe and zero longitude and temporal changes) ; · Study of the effects of the impulsed irradiation on biological and technogenic systems.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND STRUCTURE

Is the project a short-term expansion (over the IPY 2007-2008 timeframe) of an existing plan, programme or initiative or is it a new autonomous proposal?

It is a component of an existing programme of activity of the Russian Antarctic Expedition in respect to Antarctic, and a new project in respect to Spitzbergen..

How will the project be organised and managed?
Issues of scientific researches in Southern and Northern polar regions will be managed and coordinated through Russian Antartcic Expedition and Roscomhydromet.

What are the initial plans of the project for addressing the education, outreach and communication issues outlined in the Framework document?
The results of the Project will be presented in open reports and publications and can be used for addressing the education, outreach and communication issues.

What are the initial plans of the project to address data management issues (as outlined in the Framework document)?
The results of the project will be presented, after processings, to the user community through web technology at site of AARI.

How is it proposed to fund the project?
Through RAE (for Antarctic part) and Roshydromet (about 15 000 USD for instruments at Barenzburg).
