01-11-04 - Pre-Publication Copy of the Planning Group Report now available online.

The Final Report of the IPY 2007-2008 Planning Group is now available online in a pre-publication format. The document entitled "A Framework for the International Polar Year 2007-2008" outlines the Science and Implementation recommendations of the Planning Group. It also includes initial proposals for addressing the important education, outreach and communication issues and considers the critical issue of data management in IPY 2007-2008 projects. The document provides a definitive statement of where the IPY planning process has got to and outlines how the Planning Group see that process developing under the Joint Committee which is currently being appointed.
